The present study has been carried out with the aim of standardizing invitational teaching survey (ITS) and investigating its relationship with intelligence beliefs and performance of high school students in Kashmar city (Iran). The research population comprised all male and female students studying at high schools in the academic year of 2009-2010 in Kashmar town. The research sample included 540 students (270 females, 270 males), selected through multi-stage random sampling: the city was divided into three regions (north, center, south), then four schools in each region and three classes in each school were randomly selected. Research instruments consisted of (a) Invitational Teaching Survey (Amos, Purkey, Tobias, 1980; Revised 1990; shaw 2003); (b) Intelligence Beliefs Questionnaire (Zabihi, 2005). Grade point average was used as an indicator of students' academic performance. Data were analyzed using step by step regression analysis, Pearson correlation, one-sided ANOVA, and t-test. The results showed that (a) the invitational teaching survey has high reliability and validity; (b) incremental and inherent components of intelligence beliefs and consideration, patience, skill, and commitment components of invitational education are the best predictors of students academic performance; (c) there is a significant relationship between invitational education components and those of intelligence beliefs; (d) there is significant relationship between intelligence beliefs and academic performance. These findings have some implications for effective teaching and learning, which are discussed in this article

The Purpose of the present study was to examine the psychometric properties of perception of classroom questionnaire, developed by Fraser, Fisher, and McRobbies (1996). 830 high school students in Tehran city were randomly selected to participate in the study. Cronbach Alpha coefficient and factor analysis were used to determine the psychometric properties of the questionnaire. The results were coherent with Fraser, Fisher and McRobbies (1996) and Dorman (2009) revealed that the questionnaire have an acceptable consistency. Cronbach Alpha coefficients for subscales were between 0/79 to 0/90. Meanwhile, the results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the structure of the questionnaire have an acceptable fit to the data. Further, the questionnaire is a valid and reliable instrument to measure students' perception of classroom

The Schommer’s epistemological beliefs questionnaire is regularly used in studies on epistemological beliefs. However, many researchers pose some questions about the appropriateness of this instrument. The present study has been taken with the goal of investigating the reliability and factor structure of schommer’s epistemological beliefs questionnaire (1990). To do this, the questionnaire was translated into Persian (Farsi). Then, it was retranslated into English and compared with the original version to find and correct the gaps between the translated version and the original version. After the pilot study and resolving the possible mistakes, the final questionnaire was implemented for sample group consisting of 518 students studying in different fields in Tabriz Payame Noor University (302 students from humanities and 216 students from basic sciences).Cronbach Alpha calculation showed that none of reliability coefficients of sub-scales are acceptable. So, factor analysis was applied in this study to examine the construct validity and to reach an optimal factor structure. Before factor analysis of data, internal consistency was calculated for 63 questions. 27 questions due to under .10 and negative correlation between item-total score test were deleted from subsequent analyses. Using Principal Component's method, factor analysis was performed on 36 remaining questions. Investigatng of Scree plot of primary analysis showed two-factor solution. In order to achieve a two-factor structure, the analysis of Principal Components was done using Promax rotation method. 20 questions, due to factor load below .35 or due to meaningful and equal load on more than one factor in several rotations was deleted. Final analysis showed loading of the remained 16 questions on two factors. These factors were nominated according to content of the questions covered by simple/absolute knowledge and fast/fixed learning.Calculation of Cronbach Alpha coefficient showed that the reliability of two obtained factors is acceptable

The present study was aimed to investigate usefullness of Persian version of King (2008) spiritual intelligence scale in Iranian culture and comparing spiritual intelligence among University students, junior clergy mans in religious schools (Howzeh), and students of art schools, so that the effect of field of study and interests on spiritual intelligence to be explored. For this propose, 304 people (168 female and 136 male) with various university majors, from religious schools, as well as from art schools, completed King spiritual intelligence scale. Results indicated desirable psychometric properties of the scale for use in Iranian sample. Except in Conscious State Expansion subscale, three groups were significantly different in such a way that junior clergy mans scored higher than two other groups. Investigating gender differences showed that males scored significantly higher than females in Conscious State Expansion subscale; but there were no significant differences in terms of Personal Meaning Production, Transcendental Awareness and Critical Existential Thinking subscales. Discussion of findings in the light of previous literature and some suggestions for further research terminate the article.

The purpose of this study was to assess and evaluate the E-learning course of industrial engineering at Khajeh NasirddinToosi University. The research population included all the industrial engineering students and instructors at Khajeh NasirddinToosi University. The sample comprised 61 (51 students and 10 instructors) who were selected purposive sampling method. According to a review of global experiences, a checklist designed and applied. By analytical and descriptive statistical methods, it was found that the E-learning course of industrial engineering at Khajeh NasirddinToosi University could be relatively a suitable programme. These findings which may have some implications in designing E-learning course, are discussed in fully in this paper

The present research aims to construct Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality of faculty and has been administered to measure it’s validity and reliability. 962 students were chosen from Tehran governmental universities in different humanities course of studies to complete the questionnaire. The factor analysis was used to study the questionnaire validity and accordingly ten factors were extracted. Regarding the research theoretical basis and the questions contents the fallowing factors has been distinguished: Scientific ability, interest and dynamic, motivation reinforcement and the students abilities, student and faculty human interaction quality in classroom, student and faculty human interaction quality out of classroom, evaluation and feedback, organization, ethical issues observance, educational regulation and order observance and satisfaction from faculty. The questionnaire reliability was assessed by internal consistency using Cronbach coefficient. Based on the obtained results, the coefficient of the ten factors (except to ethical issues observance which is %61) were satisfactory. The smallest Cronbach coefficient after ethical issues observance belongs to educational regulation and order observance which is %69 with three questions and the biggest Cronbach coefficient belongs to scientific ability which is %91 with 18 questions. The questionnaire total reliability coefficient is %97 which is outstanding. Based on the results of this research, the Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality is qualified to be used for evaluation of faculty educational quality by students

To test the reliability, validity and normalization of CTST in Malayer University, a sample size of 340 male and female students was randomly selected. The subjects answered the above-mentioned test under the same condition. The items of the test were translated and adapted to the Iranian culture. The reliability of the test was calculated as 0.689 through the use of Kuder-Richardson, 0.558 through test split half, and 0.652 through test-retest methods. The validity of the test was determined through construct validity (convergent and divergent validities). Correlation of the test score was calculated as 0.64 through the application of Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test. Additionally, the correlation of the test with regard to the students' achievement and Cattle anxiety test was calculated as 0.31 and -0.25, respectively, which showed that critical thinking, academic achievement and anxiety are different constructs. Factor analysis of the answered questions revealed that the test includes 15 factors with the Eigen value greater than 1 which justifies 61.42% of the variance in the whole test. It is, however, worth mentioning that within the first three factors that included more than three questions had a factor loud greater than 0.3. No significant difference was observed in the test score mean among the various educational and sex groups.
