Classroom assessment, as the complementary part of the language learning process, is a powerful decision-making instrument. Nonetheless, more research is required regarding the ways teachers cope with these requirements, and how they affect their pedagogical practices. This study is an attempt to examine EFL teachers’ perceptions of assessment literacy and the criteria they consider to assess their students. Moreover, it examines whether graduate and undergraduate teachers differ in terms of their assessment literacy. To this end, by using a survey and Ex-Post Facto research design and through a two-part questionnaire on assessment literacy (adapted from Plake, 1993; Plake, Impara, & Fager, 1993), a comparison was made between undergraduate (N=22) and graduate teachers (N=10) of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), English Literature, Translation studies, and Linguistics selected through purposive sampling on their perceptions of assessment literacy. The research results revealed a statistically significant difference between undergraduate and graduate teachers’ perceptions of assessment literacy. Results also showed that graduate teachers had higher perceptions of assessment literacy than their undergraduate counterparts, representing the effect of their level of education and educational background. Thus, this study highlights the significance of giving sufficient and proper training to all soon-to-be language teachers on language assessment, argues for the need, suggests ways by which teachers can become more literate in the domain of language assessment, and presents ways teacher educators and language testing experts can assist in this path.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the divergence of the questions of the master's and doctoral exams of a number of statistical courses during the years 1397-1393 from the topics approved by the Supreme Planning Council. For this purpose, the main topics and sub-topics (with the title of main cluster, sub-cluster and topics) were first identified based on the course titles approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, on which the master's and doctoral entrance exams are designed. In the next step, the frequency distribution of the mentioned test booklet questions in specific time intervals in each topic was extracted and the distance of this distribution of questions in the clusters with the ideal and expected distribution of specialized experts was calculated and tested. The Chi-square test was used to examine the divergence and the Jeffrey index was used to evaluate the good fit of the two distributions as well as the information distance. The sample studied in this study is a case study consisting of a total of eight courses, two courses "Statistics and Experimental Design" in the master's degree exam in agricultural engineering and also four specialized master's degree courses in statistics (mathematical statistics, regression, sampling and basics of probability) And two specialized doctoral courses in this field (probability and statistical inference). The results show that out of eight non-specialized courses in only one course (experimental design in the field of agricultural engineering) and of course in 2016 the rate of divergence was significant (P-Value = 0.28, Chi-square = 8.88 , Jeffrey). Also, among the specialized courses in the field of statistics, the degree of divergence from the ideal situation for one of the courses (probability course of the doctoral exam in statistics in 1396) is significant (0.46P-Value <0.01, Chi-square = 12.50, Jeffrey =).

The acquisition and promotion of Students' academic competence in the scholastic process is a desirable outcome for any educational system. Having a measure for accurately assessing students’ academic competence is very important. Therefore, the goal of this study was construction and validation of the academic competency questionnaire and identification of its dimensions and components. The population of interest includes all male and female first year high school students in Tabriz. A sample of 660 students participated in the study through multi-stage cluster sampling method. The initial instrument was developed based on the Model of Academic Competence and Motivation (McGrew, 2013). Validity of the instrument was determined by utilizing the Content Validity Ratio (CVR), exploratory factor analysis and concurrent correlation with the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The results of exploratory factor analysis affirmed 5 significant factors for the “orientation towards self” subscale, 6 factors for the “orientation towards learning” subscale and 8 factors for the “orientation towards others” subscale. The goodness-of-fit indicators obtained from the second-order confirmatory factor analysis also confirmed this structure including three main subscales, 19 factors and 109 items. In general, the research findings showed that this questionnaire has the necessary psychometric properties to assess the academic competence of high school students and can be used as a useful tool in this field.

The present study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the PERMA-profiler in students. The research is descriptive correlational and applied. The statistical population of the study was university students of different educational levels with Internet access in academic year of 2019-2020, the sample size was 568 (385 females, 183 males) and the sampling method was convenience sampling. The research instruments were PERMA-profiler, Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-being (RSPWB-18), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS-21). First, the questionnaire was translated and its content and face validity were examined. Data was collected by an online questionnaire. Construct validity was assessed by CFA and the 5-factor structure of the questionnaire was confirmed. The correlation of the questionnaire with RSPWB-18, SWLS, and DASS-21, indicated the appropriate convergent and divergent validity of the construct. The internal consistency of the instrument with Cronbach's alpha and Guttmann coefficients was evaluated suitable for the subscales and the total score (0.66 to 0.95), and the test-retest with high coefficients (0.74 to 0.86) showed the stability of the instrument. Finally, based on the results of this study, PERMA-profiler has good validity and reliability for use in the student community.

ABSTRACTPerformance-based measures have shown some limitations in the assessment of executive functions (EF) and rating scales have been proposed as an alternative. This study examined the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function, Second Edition, BRIEF-2 parent - form in students aged 13 to 18 years. Participants were 300 students, 148-girl (49.3%) and 152-boy (51.7%) between 13 and 18 years old (M = 9.15; SD = 1.92). Samples were selected from regions (north, south, east, west and center) in Tehran city. The analysis of the internal structure using confirmatory factor analysis reveals that the model with three indexes (Behavioral, Emotional and Cognitive) and nine scales (Inhibit, Shift, Self-Monitor, Emotional Control, Initiate, Working Memory, Plan/Organize, Organization of Materials and Task-Monitor) showed good fit to the sample. The Cronbach's alpha values for the index scores ranged from.91 to.93, with alpha for the individual scales ranging from.87 to.92. Results showed that Persian version of the BRIEF-2 parent Form demonstrated high internal consistency and test–retest reliability. Convergent validity was obtained for BRI (AVE = 0.52), ERI (AVE = 0.54) and CRI (AVE = 0.58). In addition, composite reliability (CR) was reported for BRI (CR = 0.85), ERI (CR = 0.87) and CRI (CR = 0.83). According to the findings, it can be said that the Persian version of the BRIEF2 scale has the necessary convergent validity and composite reliability. The findings support the factorial validity of the BRIEF-2 scores, suggesting that it is an adequate instrument to evaluate executive functioning reported by parents and caregivers. According to the findings, it can be said that the Iranian version of the BRIEF-2 has good psychometric properties and can be a good tool for use in clinical and research situations.
