Background: The ability to understand and being able to profoundly and deeply understand the within-person differences entail profile analysis which is considered to be a serious challenge in psychometrics area. Aim: This study was aimed at applying Profile Analysis via Multidimensional Scaling (PAMS) procedure in order to extract prototypical profiles underlying the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children- Fourth Edition (WISC-IV). Method: The design of the study is correlational and the population of the study consisted of all of the students studying at 6th distinct schools of Tehran. Using random cluster sampling method 200 students were selected. The sample were administered full subscales of WISC-IV. Results: Data analysis using the PAMS procedure resulted in extracting 3 cumulative profiles. Statistically meaningfulness of the subtests within profiles were determined and they were labeled according to their dimensionality and underlying meaning (processing speed vs. working memory, lexical knowledge vs. visual alertness and perceptual reasoning vs. verbal comprehension). Conclusions: using the PAMS procedure in interpreting WISC-IV results could be beneficiary. Relying on individual parameters further clinical and applied implications are discussed.

Moral intelligence is the ability to differ right from wrong, to have strong moral beliefs, and to do the right thing. Building moral intelligence in children from an early age is essential. Therefore we need to do baseline measurements, develop and implement intervention programs, and finally assess the effect of these programs on children’s moral intelligence. For this reason, the present study aimed to create and validate a moral intelligence questionnaire for children. From all the preschools and kindergartens of Shahroud, a cluster sample of 300 children was selected to complete the assessment tools. Factor analysis was conducted to determine the factor structure of the questionnaire, while convergent and divergent validity were assessed with Pearson correlation coefficient. Reliability was evaluated with Cronbach’s alpha. Factor analysis results revealed that consistent with the theoretical foundations, Children’s Moral Intelligence Questionnaire (CMIQ) has a six-factor structure consisting of conscience, self-control, empathy, patience, justice, and respect. The convergent and divergent validity for CMIQ was examined via concurrent administration of KajbafNejad Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire for Children and Shahim’s Questionnaire for Behavioral Problems in Children, respectively. Both results were satisfactory. An overall Cronbach’s alpha of 0.92 indicated that CMIQ has high reliability and can be used for moral intelligence assessment in preschool and kindergarten children of 4 to 6 years old.

The present study intends to structuralist and standardize a critical thinking test. It is a descriptive survey in which the researcher has aimed to provide a valid and reliable test to assess and evaluate the students’ critical thinking. Target population of this study is consisting of all students of Ferdowsi University during the academic year 2011-2012 that are totally 21217 students. Sampling population of the research includes 500 students. Two stages of sampling method have been applied in this study; the first stage has been a clustering sampling method and second one has been a random sampling method. Eight questions have been also discussed in this research and required data has been assembled through two questionnaires. Owing to the fact that the present study aims to plan a new questionnaire to assess the students’ critical thinking, two questionnaires have been applied. The first one was the questionnaire which has been used in California due to assess the validity of the researcher’s questionnaire, and second one was the researcher’s own questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics and softwer spss, Bilog have been applied to analyze the research questions. The achieved results indicate that all three kinds of validity are acceptable. Structural and differential validity demonstrate that this questionnaire has the capability of distinguishing between high and low groups of critical thinking on the basis of California’s test. The results of criterion validity show that the researcher’s questionnaire is valid enough and can be substituted for California’s questionnaire. Experimental validity of the test has been calculated 0.96 and internal consistency of the test has been measured based on Kuder-Richardson formula. What has been achieved through the Information function indicate that the designed test possesses goodness of Fit and it is appropriate for the students whose abilities are at the level of ±1.

The present study investigated the psychometric properties of a Persian version self- reassurance/ self-criticism Inventory in the male and female teachers. This study was of a validation type. The participants were 444 teachers selected through a multistage-cluster random sampling among the teachers in high school second period in the city of Bojnord of the 2015-16 years. The three scales administrated in this study were: self- reassurance/ self-criticism Inventory, self-efficacy Scale and happiness Inventory. A cronbach’s and test-retest reliability was calculated to examine the reliability of the self- reassurance/ self-criticism Inventory and to check the validity of the method convergent validity, divergent validity and confirmatory factor analysis was used. The calculated α for the inventory was for self-criticism 0.69 and for and self- reassurance 0.77. Neutralizing dimensions respectively self-criticism and for and self- reassurance examined through correlating it to the self-efficacy scale and happiness Inventory given signification. Using factor exploratory analysis confirmed the two-factor structure. The Persian version of the self- reassurance/ self-criticism Inventory seems satisfactory for measuring self- reassurance/ self-criticism symptoms in teacher's samples. Future research is, however, needed to confirm these data in a sample of OCD teacher's. Key Words: self-criticism, self- reassurance, Self-efficacy, happiness.

The purpose of this study is was to develop an Iranian Adolescent Time Attitude Scale. For this reason, two studies have done among Iranian adolescents to develop and validate of a time attitudes scale. In the first study, a qualitative method as well as grounded theory was used to conceptualize time attitude. Participants in the first study included 45 adolescents (23 male and 22 female) aging 15 to 17 years old with the average age of 16.20. Six focus groups were formed in schools for girls and schools for boys. The results of open and axial coding for past, present and future shows that this period of life contains eight categories of positive future, negative future, hedonist present, negative present, futurist present, positive past, negative past, and past acceptance. In the second study based on the codes obtained from interviews develop a scale to measure time attitude was drafted viewing time scale then examined its psychometric properties. Participants in the second study included 938 school students (493 female and 445 male) in the second and third grade of Iranian high school. The findings of exploratory factor analysis indicated that time attitude scale for adolescent Iranian contained 34 items measuring eight dimensions including positive future, negative future, negative present, hedonistic present, futuristic present, negative past, past acceptance and positive past. Fit indices in confirmatory factor analysis model, confirmed validity of this attitude scale. Based on the findings, time attitude scale can be as valid and reliable instrument for assessing attitudes toward adolescents Iranian used.
