The purpose of this study was to identify and prioritize the evaluation indicators of faculty members in the education dimension. The statistical population included all students of the Management and Accounting faculty of Allameh Tabataba'i University, Tehran, Iran during the academic year of 2016-2017. Two-hundred-forty-two participants were selected based on stratified random sampling method, and the researcher-made tool was implemented to collect the required data. The instrument items, written in the Likert scale of five degrees (high, relatively high, moderate, relatively low and very low), measured the importance of indicators in the assessment of faculty members. Data were analyzed using the exploratory factor analysis, Kruskal–Wallis, and Friedman test. The results of Friedman test showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of the indicators. Accordingly, the results of this study can respond to some of the challenges faced by teachers in their evaluation using students' opinions. These opinions can be used properly to make educational planners familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation process and provide the opportunities for correction.

Construct validity of instruments, tests, and scales can be examined using the Rasch Measurement Model (RMM) during their initial construction and validation, or after they have been published. The aim of this study was to examine the construct validity of the Test of Visual-Motor Skills Revised (TVMS R) by applying the RMM to evaluate its scalability, dimensionality, differential item functioning, and hierarchical ordering. The participants included 400 children aged 5 to 12 years, recruited from six schools in the Melbourne metropolitan area, Victoria, Australia. Children completed the TVMS-R under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Overall, 39 out of 142 of the TVMS R scale scoring accuracy classification criteria items exhibited poor measurement properties. As nearly one-third of the scoring classification criteria items were found to be problematic, the TVMS R in its current form is not recommended for clinical use, as it is not consistent with the clinical demands expected of an instrument used to evaluate the visual motor integration skills of children

In traditional approaches, single-level statistical models were generally used to analyze IEA data. In hierarchical linear models, each level is, however, introduced by its sub-model, and the variables' interrelations are explained in each specified level. The way the variables affect the existent relations in other levels is also determined. The main purpose of this paper is to compare multi-level modeling and single-level analysis techniques and underline the importance of applying the former in analyzing the data extracted from the TIMSS 2007 questionnaires completed by the eighth graders. Due to their nature, the IEA data were analyzed by HLM software as the students were nested within classes, classes within schools, and schools within countries. In the single-level analysis, there was a significant relationship between self- concept, attitude and evaluation at 0.001 level with mathematics achievement (0.48, 0.296 and 0.134, respectively). Furthermore, the results of two-level analysis by one-way ANOVA with random effects showed that these three variables (self-concept, attitude and evaluation) explained 30.10% and 47% of mathematics achievement variance at student and school levels, respectively. The different results of these two analyses demonstrated the importance of using multi-level analyses for nested data like TIMSS. Regarding the nested nature of TIMSS data and the multi-level method used to extract them, the application of multi-level modeling techniques is recommended to obtain more detailed data on the factors influencing the students' achievement.

Background: This study was administered with the aim of investigating the psychometric properties of the theoretical part of the driver’s license test. The study sample included the responses of a group of 350 subjects, selected through multi-cluster sampling, to the 30 randomly chosen theoretical questions of the driver’s license test. In order to investigate the psychometric properties of the test questions, the results obtained from both the classical test theory and the item-response test theory were compared and evaluated. The study adopted a descriptive methodology and the accuracy of the sample was verified at the beginning. Factor analysis and Cronboch method were used to determine the unidimensionality of the test. Then the test questions were analyzed based on the classical and the item - response test theories and the question parameters (difficulty, discrimination and guessing) and the ability due to uncertainty were extracted using the simultaneous estimation method. Results: The results of the study confirmed the unidimensionality and independence of the test. After determining the main theory assumptions of the IRT, the model - data fitting was evaluated and the results of the two-parameter model showed better fitting with the data. In the next step, the question parameters and the ability factor were evaluated with the T-test. Results showed that there was no significant relationship in determining the accuracy of estimating the difficulty, slope and ability parameters between the classical theory and the item - response theory. In order to check the reliability and the stability of the test results on the first run, a test - retest was administered to a sample of 30 subjects. Since the present test is a kind of reference criterion, Kappa coefficient of reliability was used to settle the disagreements. Results showed that there is a significant relationship between the first run and the second run and moreover the test has sufficient reliability and validity to be administered in different cases. Conclusion: The analysis of the question parameters and subjects confirmed the simplicity of the test and its high capacity to distinguish the ability of the subjects. It can, therefore, be concluded that the test questions are more accurate with subjects with lower ability. In comparison to the classical theory, the estimated ability in the item - response theory is closer to the real rate. According to the estimated abilities, questions can be selected based on subjects’ abilities which can finally lead to the creation of a question bank.

Background: E-teaching and e-learning as modern methods has had an evolutionary trend during the recent decades. Since e-learning environments are free from time and space, assessment of students' learning is also a challenging problem in such settings. Objective: The objective of the present study was to examine the impact of e-portfolio on attitude, motivation and academic achievement of Khajeh Nasirddin Toosi University's E- Learning Center Students. Method: The research methods was quasi-experimental and statistics population included all the Khajeh Nasirddin Toosi University's e- Learning Center students who were enrolled in computer engineering course in the second semester of 1389-90 academic year . The sample comprised Two classes of data structure courses that were chosen purposively. The two classes had 50 students that due to lack of cooperation of 10 students, the sample size was 40 individuals who were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. At first, of each group, a pre-test was done in same conditions and then experimental group was exposed to the independent variable. In this way that experimental group trained with e-portfolio and control group trained with conventional method during of 2 months of semester. In order to examine the obtained variations, a post-test of the each group was taken at the end of 2 months. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analysis the data. Results: Tthe results showed significantly an increased attitude, motivation and academic achievement toward the examination in the experimental groups compared with the control group. Students, who were trained through e-portfolio, had a high motivation, positive attitude toward the examination and high academic achievement respectively. Conclusion: We can suggest the use of e-portfolio in e-learning as one of the modern methods in assessment.

The present research aims to construct Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality of faculty and has been administered to measure it’s validity and reliability. 962 students were chosen from Tehran governmental universities in different humanities course of studies to complete the questionnaire. The factor analysis was used to study the questionnaire validity and accordingly ten factors were extracted. Regarding the research theoretical basis and the questions contents the fallowing factors has been distinguished: Scientific ability, interest and dynamic, motivation reinforcement and the students abilities, student and faculty human interaction quality in classroom, student and faculty human interaction quality out of classroom, evaluation and feedback, organization, ethical issues observance, educational regulation and order observance and satisfaction from faculty. The questionnaire reliability was assessed by internal consistency using Cronbach coefficient. Based on the obtained results, the coefficient of the ten factors (except to ethical issues observance which is %61) were satisfactory. The smallest Cronbach coefficient after ethical issues observance belongs to educational regulation and order observance which is %69 with three questions and the biggest Cronbach coefficient belongs to scientific ability which is %91 with 18 questions. The questionnaire total reliability coefficient is %97 which is outstanding. Based on the results of this research, the Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality is qualified to be used for evaluation of faculty educational quality by students
