Considering the importance of coping strategies and the preference of respondents and researchers for short and comprehensive forms of measures, in the present study, the psychometric properties of the brief questionnaire of situational coping strategies were investigated and adapted. According to the objectives and subject, the method of this research is descriptive and of the type of factor analysis studies. The statistical population was all the students of the universities of Mashhad city, and 660 individuals were selected from this population by multi-stage cluster sampling. The participants responded to measures including Situational Coping Strategies Brief Questionnaire (SCSBQ-28), Ryff Psychological Well-being Scale (RPWS-18) and Single-Question Life Satisfaction Scale (SLSS-1). In the following, 47 participants were identified as incomplete and outlier data. Therefore, the final sample of the study was 613 participants. The results confirmed the 14 factors of the of situational coping strategies brief questionnaire. Convergent and divergent validity were also reported regarding the dimensions and the whole questionnaire with psychological well-being and life satisfaction. Cronbach's alpha of dimensions between 0.63 and 0.86 and the whole questionnaire was calculated as 0.76, which is good. Therefore, researchers and clinicians can use this questionnaire in scientific studies and clinical investigations, considering the fourteen dimensions, comprehensiveness, and shortness of this tool compared to similar tools while being comprehensive.

The purpose of the present research is to restructure, validate, make reliable and normalize math self concepts scale. in testing research, 812 students from Malards high school were participated. Method:In this study, the items of math self concept restructured scale was analyzed with discriminant index and loop method. The reliability of scale was investigated with split-half method and coefficient alpha, then construct validity, criterion validity and discriminant validity were investigated. Investigating construct validity, we use factor analysis , and also investigating discriminant validity, math anxiety scale (from Betz) was used, because there is a negative relation between math self concept and math anxiety. Investigating discriminant validity, we use a difference between 3 course of education in students. T and Z scores were used for normalization of scale. Findings:Reliability of this scale was 0/898 and discriminant validity was meaningful, that is show a meaningful difference between 3 courses and confirm discriminant validity of this scale. Result of construct- related validity shows 3 factors in this scale. The restructured scale can be beneficial for students in choosing their course of study and for measuring their affective to math.

Background: Reliability and validity are important issues in test construction. System approach is a concept with various functions that considers interaction of employed people in different parts of a system. Objectives: The present research aims to study the construct, normalization and validation of the system approach scale in educational planning. Method: It was adescriptive survey research. Using multi-stage cluster sampling method, 483 subjects were selected from among all the principals and teachers in west Mazandaran's high schools and secondary schools. The subjects responded to the researcher-made system approach questionnaire. Results: Using Cronbach's alpha, reliability of the test was computed as 0.981. Factor analysis of system approach items indicated that they explain more than 61.328% of the intended variance. After one varimax rotation, the desirable consistency between items and factors were determined. Then, five factors (including strategic attitude, strategic management, focusing on work environment, realities and objectives, paying attention to requirements, complexities and tasks, and knowledge and information management) were extracted and labeled as the components of system approach to educational planning. Conclusion: Considering the desirable psychometric properties, this questionnaire can be used to measure the system approach adopted by the employees of educational centers, such as the Ministry of Education, and universities. Consequently, it helps to prepare the ground for improving the educational programs and increase productivity of educational systems.

The purpose of this paper is to standardize and normalize the health concerns questionnaire-54 (HCQ-54) to assess the health concerns of Iranian undergraduates at the state-run universities in Tehran, including University of Tehran, Tarbiat Mo'allem University, Allameh Tabataba'i University, Shahid Beheshti University, Sharif University of Technology and Amir Kabir University of Technology. To this aim, 2000 undergraduates were selected using the random multi-stage sampling method. The general reliability of the scale and its subscales was computed through internal consistency. The results indicated excellent internal consistency (general Cronbach's alpha coefficient = 0.803, somatic concerns = 0.894, mental concerns = 0.939, social concerns = 0.646) and proved statistically satisfactory. Moreover, the construct validity of the scale was investigated through factor analysis of principal components with varimax rotation, after which a factor emerged that accounted for 28.843% of the total variance of the scale. The cutoff point of the study was 62 with sensitivity and specificity standing at 80% and 72%, respectively. The independent t-test showed no significant difference between male and female students on the HCQ-54 subscales.

Background: The Multidimensional Aptitude Battery (MAB) is a group intelligence test based on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale- Revised (WAIS-R). The MAB is designed for the assessment of a wide range of intellectual abilities of both adults and the16-year old or older adolescents. Objectives: The purpose of the present research was to investigate the adaptation, normalization and the psychometric propertiesof the Persian version of the MAB among the Payame Noor Universitystudent population. Methods :First, the subtests were translated into Farsi. Then, some of the subtest items were adapted to the Iranian culture and were ready to be used. Finally, after the pilot study and resolving the errors, the final subtests were administered to a sample group consisting of 315 students of humanities and basic sciences in Payame Noor University of Tabriz. In this study, the mean and the standard deviation of the subtest raw scores were used to produce the standardized scores (with a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 10) and then the standardized score conversion chart was formulated. Results: The results of the internal consistency and test- retest reliability revealed that the MAB is adequately reliable. All the subtests had middle and high correlations with Raven’s Advanced Matrices’ intelligence test scores, which showed concurrent validity of these subtests. The correlation coefficients in the multidimensional aptitude subtests were in the range of 0.18 to 0.58. The correlation between the general information, vocabulary and picture completion subtest scores and age was positive and significant, but the correlation between digit symbol, spatial, picture arrangement and object assembly and age was negative and significant. The summary of the regression coefficient results showed that vocabulary subtests were the best predictor of the total score of verbal scale and the spatial subtests were the best predictor of the performance scales and the other subtests were of lower ranks. Conclusion: The results of the study indicated that the Persian version of the MAB is a reliable and valid measurement tool that can be used for academic and career counseling purposes, and basic researches.

To test the reliability, validity and normalization of CTST in Malayer University, a sample size of 340 male and female students was randomly selected. The subjects answered the above-mentioned test under the same condition. The items of the test were translated and adapted to the Iranian culture. The reliability of the test was calculated as 0.689 through the use of Kuder-Richardson, 0.558 through test split half, and 0.652 through test-retest methods. The validity of the test was determined through construct validity (convergent and divergent validities). Correlation of the test score was calculated as 0.64 through the application of Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test. Additionally, the correlation of the test with regard to the students' achievement and Cattle anxiety test was calculated as 0.31 and -0.25, respectively, which showed that critical thinking, academic achievement and anxiety are different constructs. Factor analysis of the answered questions revealed that the test includes 15 factors with the Eigen value greater than 1 which justifies 61.42% of the variance in the whole test. It is, however, worth mentioning that within the first three factors that included more than three questions had a factor loud greater than 0.3. No significant difference was observed in the test score mean among the various educational and sex groups.
