Background: Validity of the multilevel analyses with a focus on differences in learning theories (with both classis approach toward measurement and new approach toward measurement (IRT)) by means of various data has recently been studied. Aim: This study is aimed at determining the level of impact of schools on the scores gained by students involved in advanced TIMSS’s 2008 test. Methodology: In order to achieve the chief goal of the study, the researchers adopted the data relating to administration of advanced TIMSS’s 2008 physics test, which assesses the course of teaching advanced physics to the high school seniors (pre-university students). The population and sample group of this study comprise the pre-university candidates of mathematics and physics taking advanced TIMSS physics test administered in the academic year 2007-2008. The sample size of Iranian students involved in this measurement equaled 2556 subjects. Findings: Results of the analyses generally suggest that firstly multilevel IRT (MLIRT) analyses are more powerful than multilevel true scores (MLTS) analyses in clarifying school differences. Secondly, the level of difference in the schools involved in advanced TIMSS math test reflected in intraclass correlation (ICC) is high in MLIRT analyses. Discussion and Conclusion: First, considering measurement error of each item in analyses within Bayesian framework and by means of Gibbs sampling can remarkably improve the power of multilevel analyses and lead to a significant rise in the ratio of the explicated variance. Second, there is too much educational difference and discrimination among schools which is largely due to school-level variables (such as those relating to teacher or school-related variables).

Background: Young Researchers Club of Islamic Azad University plays a major role in Iran’s education system with the purpose of helping young Iranian talents to thrive and prosper, identifying young researchers, and supporting, fostering and guiding them in order to promote their knowledge and reveal their creativity. Objective: Considering the key role of this institution, the present research aims to carry out an internal evaluation of the Club so that a documentary and scientific investigation of the current status of the Club and the distance it has with its predetermined goals could be conducted. Therefore, after the inputting, processing, and outputting goals were identified, 10 factors consisting of 30 criteria and 83 indicators were provided at three levels of ‘undesirable, relatively desirable, and desirable’ with respect to the Organizational Elements Model and the viewpoints of the internal evaluation committee. Method: At the next stage, 2 questionnaires were used to survey 1093 people including heads and members of the Club by employing codified factors and indicators. After sampling the collected data which involved a complete census (for heads) and random sampling (for the Club members), the data collection process was carried out. Results: Using descriptive statistical method for the status quo, input, process, and output factors were evaluated as ‘relatively desirable’. It can be concluded that, in general, the Young Researchers Club is in a ‘relatively desirable’ status. Discussion and Conclusion: In addition to determining the Club’s status and the distance it has with its goals, revealing the strengths and weaknesses of the Young Researchers Club of the Islamic Azad University can be a starting point for the qualitative improvement of the status quo. This research is the best document to be used by the Club in order to plan the necessary changes. This can be possible only when all units across the country make contributions, since applying changes and efforts to make promotions and transformations are collaborative processes, just the same as evaluation.

Background: Meta-analysis is a strong approach, but sometimes leads to wrong and misleading answers. Objective: To conduct case studies of clinical trials and observed cases regarding factors that affect the credibility of meta-research, such as the effect size, the number of analyses, data scale, analyses’ flexibility, method of reporting, and conflict of interest. Research Method: The meta-analysis method was adopted in this research. A case study of corticosteroid therapy in acute bacterial meningitis was discussed in this paper. In addition, the meta-analysis progressed in a step-by-step manner with 6 researches out of 11 ones. Results: The results of the metaanalysis of acute bacterial meningitis indicated that numerous studies have been carried out under such a title in different places. Each author has identified reasons for the use of steroid treatment. Although their reasons were sometimes incomplete, it must be noted that their researches have some things in common.

Abstract
Background: Considering the importance of studying the factors affecting organ transplantation in Iran, the present research aims at examining the factor structure, reliability and validity of the organ transplantation attitude scale.
Method: The method of research was descriptive survey. A sample of 210 students, who were selected using multistage cluster sampling, completed the questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was assessed using content validity, construct validity and factorial validity. The reliability of the questionnaire was examined through Cronbach's alpha coefficient.
Findings: The pattern of correlation coefficients between the subscales indicated a good construct validity of the scale. The results of exploratory-confirmatory factor analysis were also indicative of good and acceptable fit of items. Moreover, the Cronbach's alpha coefficients for all subscales and total scale were desirable regarding psychometric properties, and reliability coefficient was also good.
Conclusion: Considering the results of the study, the scale constructed in the Iranian society can be said to have good validity and reliability. It can be used to assess the factors influencing organ transplantation in Iran.

Although numerous methods have been proposed for detecting biased items, but a few researches have empirically investigated the power and efficiency of these methods. The main goai of this research was to apply IRT-based likelihood ratio test and confirmatory factor analysis in detecting differential item functioning (DIF) in high stakes tests. Monte Carlo simulated methods were used to answer the research questions. Required data were simulated through WINGEN2 in the form of 100 tests with 30 items that were fitted to 2PL model. Distributions of item difficulties and discrimination powers of all the tests were normal. Responses of 1000 examinees were also simulated with normal ability distribution for each test. Estimation methods of marginal maximum likelihood and weighted least squares were used to detect type and magnitudes of DIF. Data analysis in consecutive replications showed that IRT based methods were superior to CFA methods in detecting DIF. This superiority was observed in ail DIF conditions (low, moderate and high). After all. differences between two methods were small at 1000 sample sizes. No differences were observed between two methods in detecting different types of DIF. Results of this study confirm the results of Meade and Lautenschlager (2004; 2006), but is in contrast with the results of Flowers et al (2002). Finally, Likelihood Ratio test is recommended if there is any limitation in applying methods of detecting DIF.

The purpose of this paper is to standardize and normalize the health concerns questionnaire-54 (HCQ-54) to assess the health concerns of Iranian undergraduates at the state-run universities in Tehran, including University of Tehran, Tarbiat Mo'allem University, Allameh Tabataba'i University, Shahid Beheshti University, Sharif University of Technology and Amir Kabir University of Technology. To this aim, 2000 undergraduates were selected using the random multi-stage sampling method. The general reliability of the scale and its subscales was computed through internal consistency. The results indicated excellent internal consistency (general Cronbach's alpha coefficient = 0.803, somatic concerns = 0.894, mental concerns = 0.939, social concerns = 0.646) and proved statistically satisfactory. Moreover, the construct validity of the scale was investigated through factor analysis of principal components with varimax rotation, after which a factor emerged that accounted for 28.843% of the total variance of the scale. The cutoff point of the study was 62 with sensitivity and specificity standing at 80% and 72%, respectively. The independent t-test showed no significant difference between male and female students on the HCQ-54 subscales.

Background: Different ways to express anger and its consequences is allocated to a special place in fundamental and applied psychological research. Constructing and validating a useful scale to measure anger is also another important point. Objective: The aim of this research was to make and to find norms of multidimensional anger scale (anger arousal, hostile outlook, external and internal angers and anger-eliciting situations) among high school students. Method: The theoretical principles of the previous studies were studied first. Then, the researchers designed a questionnaire based on the framework resulted from studying the achieved resources. After studying the form and content of the raised questions in relation to each of the sub-tests and removing the inappropriate ones, 29 questions were performed for the final performance on a group composed of 400 students (212 males and 188 females) who were slected by the relative classification and random testing method. Results: The result of factor analysis by cycle method of Varimex of five factors equaling to 0/88, variance expression paralleling to theoretical principles of the structure were indicated .The sustainability of the questionnaire through Kranbuch alfa 0/87 and testing method-retest 0/81 and correlational results between the first and second performances in the five factors are 0/79 (Anger arousal), 0/81(Anger out), 0/77 (Hostile outlook) 0/86(Anger In), 0/83 (Anger-Eliciting Situation) respectively. The division method was used to get sure of the sustainability for the two halves 0/85 and 0/82 respectively. The total sustainability of the assumed test was 0/77. After analyzing the data, finding the norms, cut point and interference rate were calculated. The cut point for this test, in proportion with the average and standard deviation was 88/01. According to this cut point, the percent of interference rate 7/2 in the whole sample was 3/8 for the male and 11/2 for the female. Conclusion: it can be suggested the multidimensional anger scale is a valid instrument to measure students' anger.

This study aims to investigate the psychometric characteristics of specialized items of distance education psychology examinations held by Payame Noor University in 2006. To do this, 2000-subject sample was randomly selected from among all those sitting for the distance education psychology exam. Then, the sample group was randomly divided into two 1000-subject groups; one of which was used for parameter estimation, and the other for testing model-data fit. In order to analyze the test and its items based on the classical test theory (CTT), in addition to calculating frequency distribution of distracters, items variance, difficulty index, discrimination index and reliability coefficient of the test were computed. In order to analyze the test and its items based on the item- response theory (IRT), assumptions of unidimensionality and local independence were first examined. In this piece of research, in order to determine unidimensionality, all specialized psychology exams were studied in terms of factor analysis by TESTFACT Program. Results of the analyses of the above exams suggested that all of them are unidimensional, and therefore local independence assumptions are verified. Model-data fit was explored by means of BILOG-MG software, and finally, items' parameters (difficulty, discrimination and guessing) estimated along with subjects' ability parameters were extracted. Distracters' analysis showed that all items' distracters were not homogeneous in terms of probability and have had poor performance. It also indicated that in psychology and sociology exams, two-parameter model, and in philosophy exam, three- parameter model were best fit for test items. At the same time, despite the fact that mean of all exams was lower than the criterion score, it seems that the difficulties in the subject of philosophy have been more and this exam had more impact on the subjects' academic failure.

The present research aims to construct Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality of faculty and has been administered to measure it’s validity and reliability. 962 students were chosen from Tehran governmental universities in different humanities course of studies to complete the questionnaire. The factor analysis was used to study the questionnaire validity and accordingly ten factors were extracted. Regarding the research theoretical basis and the questions contents the fallowing factors has been distinguished: Scientific ability, interest and dynamic, motivation reinforcement and the students abilities, student and faculty human interaction quality in classroom, student and faculty human interaction quality out of classroom, evaluation and feedback, organization, ethical issues observance, educational regulation and order observance and satisfaction from faculty. The questionnaire reliability was assessed by internal consistency using Cronbach coefficient. Based on the obtained results, the coefficient of the ten factors (except to ethical issues observance which is %61) were satisfactory. The smallest Cronbach coefficient after ethical issues observance belongs to educational regulation and order observance which is %69 with three questions and the biggest Cronbach coefficient belongs to scientific ability which is %91 with 18 questions. The questionnaire total reliability coefficient is %97 which is outstanding. Based on the results of this research, the Iran Students' Evaluation of Educational Quality is qualified to be used for evaluation of faculty educational quality by students
