The main purpose of the present study was to investigate psychometric properties of the Adolescent Resilience Scale (ARS, Oshio, Nakaya, Kaneko & Nagamine, 2002) among girl Iranian adolescents. In this correlational study, 486 female adolescents responded to the Adolescent Resilience Scale (ARS), the Adolescent and Adult Mindfulness Scale (AAMS), the Cognitive Reappraisal Scale (CRS) and the Proactive Coping Scale (PCS). The principal component analysis method with oblimin rotation were used to compute the ARS's factorial validity and correlation coefficients between resilience dimensions with mindfulness, active coping and cognitive reappraisals were used to compute the ARS’s criterion validity. The results of the principal components analysis showed that the adolescent resilience scale consisted of four factors: positive orientation towards the future, emotional regulation, novelty seeking and patience. Correlation coefficients between dimensions of resilience with mindfulness, cognitive reappraisal and active coping supported the criterion validity of adolescent resilience scale, experimentally. Internal consistency for the positive future orientation, emotional regulation, novelty seeking and patience sub scales was 0/90, 0/75, 0/77 & 0/65, respectively. Conclusion: In sum, these findings provide evidence for the validity and reliability of the ARS to measure of psychological resilience as a dynamic process of positive adjustment to stressful experiences and posttraumatic development in girl adolescents.

The aim of this study was to validate the scale of student discussion engagement among students of the University of Tehran. The scale of student discussion engagement conceptualizes discussion in the form of a group question and answer that requires an understanding of the overall atmosphere of a class and the participation of individuals who promote the engagement of others. This scale measures the behavior and experiences of classmates in the four dimensions of measuring skills, self-confidence, openness to discussion, and perception of the overall atmosphere of the classroom. Participants were 403 students of the University of Tehran in different stages who were selected by random sampling. Participants responded to questionnaires on discussion engagement, academic engagement, general self-efficacy (GSES), and the classroom learning environment (CLC) provided online. Data were analyzed in several steps including item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, divergent validity and reliability. The results of item analysis showed that all items have the necessary adequacy in terms of descriptive criteria. In exploratory factor analysis, deleting two items and re-analyzing the remaining items led to the identification of four factors. Confirmatory factor analysis also confirmed the factor structure identified in the exploratory factor analysis. Evidence showed that the scale student discussion engagement has convergent validity, divergent validity and good reliability.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how to construct algebraic concepts in the third chapter of the 7th grade’s mathematical book, based on the theoretical frameworks of Sfard and Tall. This research is quality type and the content analysis method was used. This study in terms of purpose, is in applied research group and in terms of collecting and controlling variables in non-experimental research group. This chapter consists four sections of numerical patterns, algebraic expressions, numerical value of an algebraic expression, and equation. This study have been investigated how to construct algebraic concepts of variable and algebraic expressions, using the theoretical frameworks of Sfard and Tall. the research findings Indicates that the educational process of algebraic concepts in the book, is being performing in a way that the condensation stage (the second stage in the construction of the concept) has inefficiently been implemented so that quickly passed to the reification stage (the third stage in the construction of the concept), it means that enough time was not spend on and even some time, it overlooked. Also, according to the Gray & Tall theory, the construction of the concept has remained in the procedural stage and has not reached the last stage. Therefore, according to theories of concept construction, there is no structural and conceptual understanding of variables and algebraic expressions.

Considering the importance of evaluating adolescent and family empowerment programs using appropriate tools, the aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the self-report tool and the report of parents and teachers of the family strengthening program (10-14). The present study was applied research in terms of purpose and survey-descriptive in terms of data collection method. The statistical population was 10-14 years old Iranian adolescents who were studying in the second elementary school (fourth, fifth and sixth grades). The sample consisted of 691 students (331 boys, 360 girls) and 691 parents (334 fathers, 357 mothers) who were selected through cluster random sampling. In order to collect data, the adolescent person survey questionnaire, parent / guardian survey questionnaire, ability and problems questionnaire - parents, teacher and adolescent version and school quality of life scale were used. The results of exploratory and confirmatory analysis also showed that the Parents and Adolescents Questionnaire is a one-factor tool. Simultaneous validity of the instruments was also acceptable. Therefore, it can be concluded that the tools have good psychometric properties to evaluate the family strengthening program.

The aim of the study was to develop, validate and determine the factor structure of a questionnaire for measure students' positive orientation toward school. Method: By using literature review and experts opinion a questionnaire comprising 60 questions was developed. In order to determine comprehensibility, validity and reliability, the questionnaire was completed by 30 students and three of those questions were dropped because of inadequacy. Then 303 students were selected through multiple steps random sampling method and completed 57 items questionnaire. In order to extract the underlying components of the 57-item Positive Orientation to School Questionnaire, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used and the data were analyzed using SPSS software. The Kayser-Meier-Oliken index (KMO) was 0.891. This index indicates that sample size is desirable for exploratory factor analysis. Results: Principal components analysis revealed that Positive Orientation to School Questionnaire consists of four factors: school satisfaction, school belonging feeling, academic effort and attitude towards classmates. according to confirmatory factor analysis, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the four components extracted were 0.892, 0.875, 0.646 and 0.552, respectively. With the exception of the fourth component which has a relatively low Cronbach's alpha coefficient due to the low number of items (4 items), the other items have acceptable internal consistency. Conclusion: The Positive Orientation to School Questionnaire is a reliable tool for assessing students' feelings and behaviors toward school.

AbstractThe aim of this study was to design a checklist of pre-number concepts in children aged 5 to 6 years and to examine its psychometric properties. To build this tool, library resources or documentary analysis were used. And the checklist contains 66 questions that have 5 components (classification, alignment, mental retention, geometry, detection of similarities and differences), which introduce pre-number concepts at different levels such as (five senses, memory and observation, Classification, thinking sequence, reasoning and problem solving, color concept, shape, mathematical concepts are prerequisites, environmental concepts related to natural, physical, social environment. This questionnaire was administered online in kindergartens and preschools and the statistical population The parents of the children were 5 to 6 years old and the samples included 100 parents. This checklist had 4 objectives: first, how the concepts before the number in children, second, determining the content and face validity, third, determining the reliability of the checklist, and finally determining the validity of the data. It was performed in SPSS22 software and descriptive index including mean, variance, graph, skew and also inferential statistics were evaluated by exploratory factor analysis and the result was that the checklist was reduced from 66 questions to 42 questions. Cronbach's alpha was about 0.6 and also for the internal consistency of the construct validity questionnaire. Confirmed. The questionnaire was also reviewed by 10 experts and the content and face validity of the questionnaire, which was based on the CVR, was about 2.2. And in research on children, about 0.86 of children have pre-number concepts in them.
