The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the portfolio evaluating on the motivation and academic achievement of students in the third grade elementary school in the city of Nahavand in the academic year 2012-2013. For this purpose, a sample of 100 individuals (2 girls and 2 boy's classes) was selected randomly in a multi-stage method; then, a class (male and female) as an experimental group and a class (male and female) Was selected as the control group. The experimental groups received a course in a portfolio evaluating, but control groups received standardized measurements. For data collection in pre-test and post-test, Hermann's motivation questionnaire and researcher-made academic achievement test were used. Data analysis using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) for differential scores showed that there is a significant difference between motivation and academic achievement in two groups of measurement and portfolio assessment. That is, students who had received a portfolio assessment had a higher degree of motivation and academic achievement than control groups who received standardized measurements. In addition, the portfolio assessment on the motivation and academic achievement of elementary school-boy students has a significant effect; and on the motivation achievement of female students in the third elementary school has a significant effect, but on the academic achievement of female hasn't a significant effect. Measurement-gender interaction was also significant.

This study aimed at examining the causal relationship of variables with maximum impact on academic achievement of Tehran students. Methodology:The statistical population included all Tehran students. Using convenience sampling, 400 individuals were selected among them as the convenient sample in different fields. The research was carried out through path analysis method and research tools included Rotter's Locus of Control Test, Abedi test of creativity, Delavar's academic self-concept test, and Herman's Achievement Motivation Test. Research results indicated fitness of the model using data. All the variables had direct significant effects on academic achievement. The indirect effects of creativity on academic achievement were also significant. Academic motivation, creativity and academic self-concept and locus of control were of the factors effective in academic achievement. With the increase in Academic motivation, creativity and academic self-concept, academic achievement increases and internal Locus of Control lead to higher levels of academic achievement. Therefore, considering these characteristics are recommended while assessing educational achievement of students

Identification and measurement of emotional factors affecting academic achievement is one of the most active and important areas in educational psychology, which academic optimism is one of the new structures in the field of positive psychology in this regard. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of Tschannen‐Moran et al Academic Optimism Scale (2013). The questionnaire includes 28 questions that measure three components of academic emphasis, student trust to teachers, and unity to the school. The subjects of this study were 385 students of first grade high school in Khorramabad city during the academic year 2015-2016 (186 boys and 199 girls) who were selected by relative stratified sampling method based on gender and region. The instrument used in this study was the Tschannen‐Moran Optimism Scale (2013). Confirmatory factor analysis method through the main components method to check the validity of the questionnaire and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient to check the reliability of the questionnaire were used. The results of factor analysis showed that three components are revealed by removing four questions from the whole questionnaire and factor analysis of the rest of the questions and results rotation with varimax method. Also, the results of the parallel analysis were used to identify the exact components that the results of this analysis also confirmed these three components. It was also found that the whole questionnaire and its components had high reliability. In a general view, the results of the study showed that the "academic optimism questionnaire" is suitable for students to measure this feature, and to some extent it can meet the needs of the present.

Background: Nowadays, authorities give more attention to the creation of motivation in students in order to direct their activities and make them active. Despite the importance of this issue, contradictions are seen in the results of educational motivation researches. Objective: This study was aimed at reviewing researches conducted into factors affecting educational motivation and was carried out using meta-analysis method. Method: The population of the present study consisted of all researches on learning motivation recorded in SID, Magiran, and Irandoc databases from 1992 to 2012. A sample of 132 researches was chosen according to the criteria for inclusion in the study, and their data was recorded on the meta-analysis worksheet prepared by the researcher. Overall effect size calculation, Number of Partial Safety (Nfs) ^ Q-test were used for data analysis using CMA-2 software. Results: The results indicated that the following variables have the most effects in learning motivation respectively: learning strategies (ES=0/479), self-efficacy (ES= 0/405), self-esteem (ES= 0/384), selfregulation (ES=0/333), academic achievement (ES=0/329), test anxiety (ES^ -0/196) and gender (ES= 0/037). The analysis of the homogeneity of studies showed that the combined studies were heterogeneous in all variables. The analysis of the number of partial safety indicator also suggested that there was no publication bias among integrated studies in variables.

Background: E-teaching and e-learning as modern methods has had an evolutionary trend during the recent decades. Since e-learning environments are free from time and space, assessment of students' learning is also a challenging problem in such settings. Objective: The objective of the present study was to examine the impact of e-portfolio on attitude, motivation and academic achievement of Khajeh Nasirddin Toosi University's E- Learning Center Students. Method: The research methods was quasi-experimental and statistics population included all the Khajeh Nasirddin Toosi University's e- Learning Center students who were enrolled in computer engineering course in the second semester of 1389-90 academic year . The sample comprised Two classes of data structure courses that were chosen purposively. The two classes had 50 students that due to lack of cooperation of 10 students, the sample size was 40 individuals who were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. At first, of each group, a pre-test was done in same conditions and then experimental group was exposed to the independent variable. In this way that experimental group trained with e-portfolio and control group trained with conventional method during of 2 months of semester. In order to examine the obtained variations, a post-test of the each group was taken at the end of 2 months. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analysis the data. Results: Tthe results showed significantly an increased attitude, motivation and academic achievement toward the examination in the experimental groups compared with the control group. Students, who were trained through e-portfolio, had a high motivation, positive attitude toward the examination and high academic achievement respectively. Conclusion: We can suggest the use of e-portfolio in e-learning as one of the modern methods in assessment.
